The uncertainty of our future is dependable upon our knowledge of life. Life is a quest for knowledge, a way in which we must seek new paths to venture. As we begin to understand of the mechanics of the mind, we develop a transcendency through cultivating knowledge.

My work transcends to elucidate issues of social – awareness and identity. Perception controls our awareness of our surroundings, but how do we know what is real and what is not? Epistemological thinking is the base of my work. Our senses pick out the difference and calculate the normal. What if all we know is a fallacy and the real is yet to be discovered.

The development of Humankind:
A cultivation of inner knowledge and belief through the evolution of Physics
and Art.
Does Humankind have the knowledge to survive the uncertainty of the future?
Through peace and knowledge we can unite under one name and resolve a solution
to all of our problems. Our planet is dieing and the natural assets it once
contained are running very low. What choices do we have? How can we escape
and find a perfect equilibrium? I have noticed that in the animal kingdom,
there is an equilibrium that has been harnessed through passed on generations.
Many of the animals through out the world have learnt the key to survival.
It is a circle of life that determines their outcome of survival. This heterogeneity
separates humans from other species. South African Elephants are a perfect
example; it has been documented that the routes they take through out the
jungle are memorised. There is a very good reason for this, as the routes
are like motorways with service stations every so often. There is a fruit
the elephant enjoys which grows on a particular tree. These trees are dotted
around the jungle and the elephants walk in herds carving paths creating a
network for the elephant. Where the elephant takes the delicious fruit from
the trees provided by the Earth, the elephant also puts back through fertilizing
the very soil these trees grow on. The elephant digests the fruit and excretes
it onto small baby trees ensuring there will be more fruit in the future.
Do to our nature we have failed to put back what we have taken. I do realise
that there are now many renewable resources and recycling plants. So the future
may not look too bad. What about the damage which has already been done? Global
warming is endangering our livelihood and this planets existence. So when
crunch time comes what is the over-all solution to the evolution of humankind?
Physics has given us many things we take for granted. Our insight to the
universe is down to laws of Physics. Our knowledge of technology is closely
linked with Physics. I believe Physics is the key to unlocking the doors of
invention. A path in which we can follow safely into righteous lands.
There are many different theories surrounding the topic of space travel. One
is transportation through a wormhole or black hole. Imagine Space, Time and
Mass as one sheet of two-dimensional paper. If you bend the paper in halve
and join it together you have the basic understanding of how a wormhole is
illustrated. It is creating a short cut through the fabric of space and time.
This short cut would enable a vessel to transport to one area of the universe
to another very quickly. Many theorists say this is not possible as wormholes
are extremely unstable, and it would need a huge amount of mass to create
one in the first place. what if we did harness enough energy to open a wormhole.
Which turned out to be stable enough to travel through. Could possibly travel
to a distance planet enriched with basics of life.
I have illustrated the idea of wormhole travel as our survival, through depicting
environments twisted and warped by the gravitational pull of the hole. Each
of the three environments is associated to the idea of travelling through
space. The London underground seemed like an ideal location. The paintings
depict trains warping and underground walkthroughs bending like spaghetti
in a pan of hot water.
The Parallel Universe theory:
Cross roads in life determine our existence.
Have you ever made a decision in life where you used your instincts and went
in the direction you thought was best? Thinking back later, you then wonder
what would life be like if you had chose the other path. I had to make the
decision to do art or graphic design at University? I chose art because it
is my true passion, but I now realise that if I had chose graphics, I would
almost certainly have a well paid job by now.
In a universe that has been described as having more than the original four
dimensions, could it be possible there is another version of me carrying out
life in the graphic design world? This alternative world is a separate reality
that works in conjunction with ours. This is the Parallel Universe Theory
I have developed through my art work. The paintings depict both worlds, simultaneously
working together. Where ever there is a cross road in the network of life,
one version of me goes one way and the other version goes the other way.
I have discussed some of the questions my artwork is attempting to answer, but only the future will answer these questions.
